Simple Recipes: golden turmeric latte

Turmeric is a wonderful herb to incorporate into our lives and this warm drink is a great way to do it. I love having this drink before going to bed.

Turmeric is known for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and digestive supporting properties. Curcumin, the active component of turmeric, has been shown to have protective effects of liver diseases. These therapeutic mechanisms include suppressing proinflammatory cytokines and lipid peroxidation. Curcumin itself is a free radical scavenger. A 2020 study concluded curcumin supplementation had favourable effects on metabolic markers through significant reduction in LDL and fasting blood sugar.

Ginger + cinnamon are also potent anti-inflammatory herbs. Cinnamon also has insulin sensitising properties which helps move glucose into the cells.

An easy and delicious way to incorporate supporting herbs into your life.
